About the Opportunity
This is your chance to take ownership of a diverse, high-value project portfolio and redefine how commercial governance is delivered across multiple concurrent civil and infrastructure projects. As Commercial Contracts Administrator, you’ll be the driving force behind the financial and contractual performance of up to 100 active projects each year, collectively valued at $150M.
Working closely with delivery and portfolio leaders, you’ll oversee contracts, cost control, and procurement functions to ensure every project meets its commercial objectives. Your influence will extend across tendering, negotiation, and risk management, supporting the business to deliver efficiently and with confidence.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role that demands sharp commercial instincts and the ability to lead through influence. You’ll work alongside experienced project and delivery teams to embed robust processes, mentor others, and create consistency across a complex and fast-moving operational environment. Success means driving measurable performance uplift, building team capability, and ensuring every contract adds value to the business and its clients. This success will lead to rapid career progression.
About You
You’re a commercially focused leader with deep experience in civil contracting – ideally across bulk earthworks, tailings dams, or landfill projects. You understand how to balance contractual risk with operational delivery and can translate complexity into clarity for your team and colleagues.
Your background is likely from a civil contractor or large project-based business where you’ve managed multiple concurrent projects and held accountability for cost control, procurement, and contract administration. Candidates with experience in broader construction or infrastructure environments may also be considered, provided they bring the same level of commercial depth and delivery focus.
You’re confident managing complexity, equally comfortable on site, with operational staff, clients or executives, and known for your pragmatic leadership style – calm under pressure, transparent, and solutions-focused. Most importantly, you’re a collaborator and coach who enjoys building capability and inspiring teams to deliver their best.
What’s on Offer
Join a nationally recognised organisation in the industrial space. They are in an exciting phase of transformation and growth. You’ll be part of a high-performing leadership group with direct support from a senior leader who has a clear 3-year development and progression plan in place for this role – to be discussed directly with the successful incumbent. You’ll gain exposure to some of Australia’s most significant civil and environmental infrastructure projects, working within a high-performing, values-driven culture that prizes accountability, humility, and collaboration. Above all, you’ll be part of a leadership team where professional growth, coaching, and career advancement aren’t aspirational – they’re built into the role from day one.
As part of the recruitment process, reference checks will be conducted, with two recent references from direct line managers being mandatory. In addition, employers may require other pre-employment checks at their discretion, which can include medical, police, or psychometric assessments depending on the specific requirements of the role
