About the Role:
We are seeking a commercially astute and field-proven Sales Manager to take charge of a significant and strategically critical sales portfolio spanning Regional Queensland and the Northern Territory. This role has end-to-end responsibility for the performance of a $175M–$200M division servicing a broad and varied client base across civil, construction, and infrastructure sectors.
You will lead a team of 7 Account Managers across key regions including Toowoomba, Mackay, Cairns, and potentially Darwin, ensuring alignment to strategy and consistent delivery of customer value and revenue targets. With three of the team under six months’ tenure, the leadership focus will be on developing capability, embedding structure, and setting clear KPIs.Your remit will also include owning and expanding strategic Tier 1 client relationships, optimising customer segmentation, improving pricing models, and building forward order book visibility. You’ll travel frequently (approx. 50%) and play a key role in cross-functional collaboration with operations, logistics, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
This is not a desk-bound leadership role—it is a highly mobile, field-centric opportunity to truly shape market strategy, drive commercial outcomes, and directly influence the success of a nationally recognised materials business in one of its most important territories.
About You:
You are an experienced and confident Sales Manager or Commercial Leader with a background in building materials, construction, aggregates, cement, civil contracting, or an adjacent industrial sector. You bring deep understanding of regional markets and are comfortable managing both commercial strategy and technical product portfolios.
Your leadership style is clear, structured, and action-oriented. You have successfully led dispersed sales teams and know how to build rhythm, accountability, and motivation in regional teams. You’re not afraid to challenge the status quo and you lead by example—through clear communication, consistent field presence, and by being a strong advocate for both your team and your customers.
